AedelgardThe Body — Local Software Terms
These terms govern your use of the Aedelgard body — the software you download and run on your own computer ("the Body"). They are in addition to the Aedelgard Terms of Service, which continue to govern the cloud service and your Aedelgard key. Where the two conflict as to locally-run software, this document controls. The Body is provided by Millenion AB, registered in Sweden under organisation number 556887-8697 ("we", "us"). By installing or running the Body, you agree to these terms.
1. What the Body is, plainly
The Body is an autonomous software agent that runs on your machine, under your operating-system account, with your privileges. It can execute commands on your computer — it can read, create, modify, and delete files, install and run other software, access the network, and spend money on your chosen model provider. It does this at your direction, and — if you enable autonomous features such as scheduled tasks, heartbeats, or ambient reflection — on its own initiative between your instructions. This power is the point of the Body; it is also why the rest of these terms exist.
2. It is powerful and it is not infallible
The Body is driven by a large language model. It can misunderstand an instruction, act on mistaken assumptions, or be misled by content it reads (for example, instructions hidden in a file, webpage, or repository it processes). You are responsible for keeping backups of anything you value, and for reviewing what you instruct the Body to do and what you authorise it to run.
3. Safeguards we build in
Approval checks can reduce risk, but coverage depends on the tool path, configuration and version. Do not assume every destructive action is intercepted. Use limited permissions, review changes, and keep verified backups.
4. What the code signature means
A valid Windows package signature identifies its publisher and detects changes to the signed file. Verify the expected publisher, Millenion AB. Linux downloads have published checksums. Neither establishes safe behaviour or reproducible builds. Source components are governed by their accompanying licences; the open engine is not a blanket licence statement for every packaged component.
5. Your model provider and its costs
The Body thinks using a third-party model provider that you choose and connect with your own key. That provider's terms, availability, and charges are between you and them. You are responsible for the costs the Body incurs on your provider account, including costs arising from mistakes, loops, or autonomous activity. We do not warrant the correctness, safety, or suitability of anything the model produces.
6. Your memory and your key
The Body stores its memory on your machine. If you use optional encrypted cloud backup or sync, that data is sealed with a key derived from your Aedelgard key; if you lose that key, the sealed data cannot be recovered by anyone, including us — that is by design. Keep your key safe and keep local backups.
7. Warranty
The Body is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranty of any kind, whether express or implied, including any implied warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, uninterrupted operation, or that its outputs are accurate or safe to act upon.
8. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Millenion AB is not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of the Body — including damage to or loss of files, data, or systems; costs charged by your model provider or other third parties; and losses arising from commands the Body executed, from its autonomous activity, or from content it processed — whether those commands or actions were directed by you or not. Nothing in these terms limits or excludes liability that cannot be limited or excluded under Swedish law, including liability for gross negligence, for intentional harm, or under mandatory consumer-protection rules that apply to you.
9. Your responsibilities
You are responsible for the machine the Body runs on and its network exposure; for the instructions you give and the actions you approve; for maintaining backups; for the security of your provider key and Aedelgard key and the spend they permit; and for any modifications you make to the software. You agree not to use the Body for unlawful purposes.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Sweden, and disputes are subject to the Swedish courts, save where mandatory law grants you the protection of the courts of your place of residence.
